Gordon Brown's speech on Monday included some jaw-dropping commitments that apparently no-one in the press has noticed.

The indexing of state pensions to prices was announced by GB. No raised eyebrows, and questions like "Who will pay for that?"

The ambition of raising school tuition standards to equal that of public schools? Admittedly, a re-statement of a Tony Blair policy ambition, but welcome nonetheless.

Firing the ambitions of all people in Britain through the support of the state. Doesn't that sound distinctly Old Labour?

It becomes obvious to me that to realise the broadest and more representative range of political analysis, look at blogs, not newspapers and TV.

how about a life-swap issue ? daniel von goodhart edits Prospect
in the manner of the blue flower and david becomes a ZDF cameraman

daniel seems the more intelligent ( fleeing to london at the first opportunity ) and would almost certainly choose a better class of bird from whom to ponce ciggs

today we hear ms smith ended the labour party conference with a
call for ' zero tolerance for anti social behaviour '

peter oborne's excellent C4 dispatches film spotlit ms smith and
her cunning colleagues anti social behaviour in using the public purse to fund their personal property investments, while declaring their second homes 'primary residences' in order to avoid paying CGT

will the 89th most influential leftie be calling for zero tolerance
and urge these imposters fall on their swords ?
